Chipo  C. Nyambuya is a highly respected corporate council, legal consultant, and a leader in corporate social responsibility (CSR) development. She brings twenty-five years of cross-sector experience as a lawyer and policy advisor for Fortune 500 corporations, social entrepreneurs/social enterprises, start-ups, international development agencies, and foreign governments.

Chipo also is the Principal of Virgil, LLC a corporate social responsibility advisory firm, and a certified Mediator and FINRA Arbitrator. As a partner in CMC Healthcare Consulting LLC., she supports agency clients as they navigate the start-up and recurring regulatory audits necessary to own and operate successful patient-centered home healthcare and long-term care agencies.

Prior to her work at CZL P.C., Chipo was a managing partner at Ebony Law, and the Director of Experiential Learning and Professional Development at the Loyola University Chicago School of Law. She has served as faculty at Northwestern University in International and Area Studies teaching CSR and International Development, and at Loyola University School of Law instructing Professional Identity Formation. She delivers continuing legal education courses and lectures on CSR and the Law.

Chipo received her J.D. from The Ohio State University College of Law, and her A.B. with distinction, from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.

My first-generation identity as the daughter of a Liberian mother and Zimbabwean father has contributed to my strong interests in anti-racism, decolonization, diversity, equity, and inclusion in both US and international communities.

Having studied, traveled, lived, and worked in six continents in my lifetime, I have learned that balancing profitability and productivity with sustainable operations and social responsibility greatly benefits both national and international clients and the communities they serve.

My goal for all my clients — individuals, corporations, non-profits, governmental, or NGOs — is to support their long-term success by helping them align with environmentally sound and socially responsible core values, including anti-racism, diversity, equity, and inclusion, all towards creating socially and economically equitable communities. In this way, they can reduce the possibility of unforeseen risks that could hamper efficiency, diminish value and reputation, and bring exposure to legal and regulatory liability.  I am eager to assist them in finding their way forward through sustainable operational practices.
